Responsible sourcing and traceability
For many projects, the question is not only which material is used, but also where it comes from and how the forest has been managed. Fyrås Trä works with certified raw material, clear sourcing policies and supply chain traceability to ensure that our pressure treated wood meets the requirements of procurement professionals, sustainability managers and upcoming EU requirements for timber products.

Why responsibly sourced pressure-treated timber matters
An increasing number of procurement processes and internal guidelines place requirements on origin, responsibility and transparency. It is not enough for the product to have a long service life. You also need to be able to show that the timber comes from forestry where laws are followed, regeneration is ensured and natural values are respected.
With responsibly sourced timber, it becomes easier to comply with your own sustainability policies, reporting requirements and the expectations of customers and citizens.
Certifications and sourcing policy
Fyrås Trä uses certified raw material and holds chain of custody certification under schemes such as FSC and PEFC. This means that independent audits verify that forest management meets requirements relating to environmental consideration, social conditions and long-term responsibility. FSC describes chain of custody certification as the way it verifies that forest-based materials are credibly tracked along the product path, and PEFC uses the same certification language around responsible sourcing.
In addition to these certifications, we have a sourcing policy that governs which suppliers we work with, which documents we require and how we follow up on non-conformities.
Traceability from forest to post
Traceability is about being able to follow the timber through the supply chain. At Fyrås Trä, purchases are linked to specific suppliers, areas of origin and certification numbers. Orders and deliveries are recorded so that the correct documentation can be produced for procurement processes, audits or inspections.
We adapt our procedures to stricter EU requirements, such as the EUDR for deforestation-free products. The goal is for you to be able to use our documentation as part of your own traceability and risk assessment work.

Supporting documentation for procurement and internal guidelines
For procurement professionals and sustainability managers, responsibly sourced timber and traceability are often about having the right documentation available at the right time. Fyrås Trä can provide:
- FSC and PEFC certificates, as well as up-to-date supporting declarations
- our sourcing policy and a description of our procedures
- product- and delivery-specific documentation for larger projects
- guidance on which documentation is most relevant to your requirements
Together with the Climate and LCA page, this means you can also:
- demonstrate the climate impact of our products
- document origin, certifications and traceability
